According to detectives, Gregory Brandel, 35, of Farmingdale, was driving westbound on Fulton Street when he collided with another car. The driver of that car was Patricia Fuzia, 58, of Islip Terrace.
Police say Fuzia was heading southbound from Nelson Street onto Fulton Street when the collision occurred.
Fuzia was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandel was removed to an area hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation is continuing.
