I have never missed an election, whether for national or local politics, school board or budget. What I did say is that voters have little control over anything included in the budget. Do I think that the budget for Farmingdale is bloated? Absolutely! Do I think that the school administration as well as the teachers need to dig down during these rough economic times? You bet! But I also think that the cost of education has spiraled completely out of control, has become a luxury instead of a necessity. Our system requires that we provide public education to our citizens. Nowhere do I find that we are also required to provide the funds for any and all extracurricular programs.
So, please. Mr. flydatflag, don't assume or accuse. BTW, what is the district doing with a reserve of $39 million?
