Cablevision is guilty because of their reputation, and ABC is actually the one putting the most "hurt" on consumers by pulling the plug specifically on Oscar Night. There are other providers besides Cablevision, and there are other ways to watch the Oscars...including internet, and an outdoor antenna or rabbit ears. If you have an older television, that only receives "analog", you may need a DTV converter box from Radio Shack inbetween your antenna and television. Keep in mind, the digital signal broadcast, unlike the old analog, drops off completely depending on your distance from the source. So with or without the proper equipment, you won't know if you can receive the "free" signal until you hook it up.
