My Village water bills have been pretty much in the $600 to $700 range for most of the 15 years that I've been here.
That's for a family of 4.
I do have automatic sprinklers, but am relatively conservative with the use because of the high price of water.
I've heard that some of the older homes with original meters had been getting a kind of a break for many years because the older meters had slowed down. I don't know how true it is, but when I hear of people with $200 Village water bills I tend to think that there may be some validity to it. $200 for a household water bill in the Village seems artificially low, even for the smallest household.
I know that I had my meter changed shortly after I moved in to this house because of water pressure problems. The guy who installed the meter back then told me that I was probably making a mistake becasue the older meter would turn more slowly than the replacement. I should have listened to him.
