Wondering if the merchants on Main St. are happier this year than the '02 disaster? I imagine the rain had to increase traffic in restaurants at least.

Also, can someone tell me why there are so many empty stores on Main? I guess I haven't realized it since I'm usually driving to one or two stores and have 2 little kids with me but last Sunday I had the chance to walk to a few stores sans kids and WOW I couldn't believe how many vacant stores there were. I was almost embarrassed that 1) I never noticed this and 2)visitors from the Open would DEFINITELY notice.

I had noticed the empty stores north of Conklin but didn't realize about the ones south of Conklin. Such a shame.
