The grades on the state math and english tests were so poor they placed us on the list. Now don't get me wrong I think these state tests are a joke. When I was in school we didn't have state tests every 20 minutes and we turned out fine. The teachers today have to take time away from teaching what the kids need to know because of these tests. Why? Because they are told that it is necessary to prepare the children for these state tests so instead of teaching children the necessary curriculum they are teaching children how to take a test properly.
In my opinion the teachers can teach the children how to take a test all they want but if the children have not been taught the contents of the test it is useless.
