It still doesn't make up for the yes vote he cast for the bailout package back in October.
The one that was supposed to free up the credit markets and cure all of the problems with the economy. The one that gave the banks about 350 billion dollars of the taxpayer's money so far out of the roughly 700 billion they will eventually wind up with, yet nobody can account for how it was spent.
I'm totally against this current bill too, but let's call his stand what it was. This was clearly a political statement and was not based on any concern for how the taxpayer's money was to be spent.
I'm a lifelong Republican who has voted for Mr. King in the past but I think it's time he moved on. It's amazing that we keep returning these people to Washington.
I don't want to even think about how we keep sending the same people back up to Albany after they've failed us so miserably over the years.
Let's see:
Most dysfunctional State Government in the country.
Among the highest taxed citizens in the country.
Spend the most per pupil of any state in the country.
Ranked roughly number 30 in education.
But hey! They are sure to contribute generic articles along with photos of their smiling faces at local events to our local papers every chance they get, so why not keep voting them in.
