The Board will approve for membership anyone who meets the membership criteria as stated in the by-laws and requests membership.
Anyone=graduates, students, College employees, relatives of students/graduates, host parents, donors, any person who meets membership criteria.
Nobody becomes a member unless she or he asks to be a member.
An individual may ask to be a member either through self-nomination or a third-party nomination.
Privilege is earned:There should be at least three classes of membership, each with its own set of privileges.
Proposed classes and privileges are as follows:

Right to be elected as a trustee
Right to attend AGMs

2. History of financial donations to Pearson College and/or UWC
3. Skills on offer to the College, the Board and the Corporation
4. Other potentially relevant information, e.g. personal contacts in fundraising communities
A third party nominator may complete the application form on behalf of the nominee as long as the nominator vouches for the information provided.
An applicant will be judged only on their interest in international education and their willingness to support Pearson College and UWC. A signed application will be sufficient evidence of interest.
An applicant will not be denied membership because they have no previous history of volunteer support or history of financial donations.
An applicant will not be denied membership because existing members of the Corporation disagree an applicant's opinions related to the College.
Volunteer support to a National Committee that sends or has sent students to the College will be recognized as volunteer support to the corporation under "support for UWC". The applicant will note which National Committee(s) and the corporation will verify those activities.
Donations to a National Committee that sends or has sent students to the College will be recognized as a donation to the corporation under "support for UWC". The applicant will note which National Committee received their donation and the corporation will verify the donations.
The Board may delegate approval of membership applications/ nominations to a designated College employee and any such designated employee will provide a report to each Board meeting on new members, providing the members name and membership class.
