I, too, was stunned by the news about Isbel! I was her roommate in second year and we have spent many wonderful hours together - both at the College and since. It is clear to me that news of this nature reminds us of the need to focus on the good things in life and to live our own lives tothe fullest extent - we NEVER know what might happen. I fully support Fran's decision. She has been the steward of this forum for a long time. If she feels it needs to return to its original purpose, I can only support that decision.
I will be attending the memorial for Isbel (next Saturday, the 13th of December, in Seattle). I would be happy to carry your thoughts and messages to Isbel's family. Please e-mail them to me directly at "kathryn.sainty@courts.gov.bc.ca".
I have spoken to (or received messages from) a number of people who would like to help Isbel's children. I will be talking to the family over the next while and, if there is something that is needed (besides our love and prayers), I would be happy to coordinate that.
Please keep Isbel's daughter (Gabriela) and son (Juan) in your thoughts.
